Meadow Maternity Session with the Areys in Hamilton, Ohio

I’ve got a really special one I’m sharing today with one of the sweetest families I’ve had the privilege getting to know these last couple of years and that’s the Arey family!

I’ve actually photographed the Arey family a few times now after meeting Melissa in 2021. She initially hired me for her own branding photos for her Wedding Invitation Business and we hit it off so much she wanted to hire me for her family photos in 2022!

I hosted Spring Minis, Summer Minis, Fall Mini, and Christmas Minis in 2022 and she came for 3 separate ones with me throughout the year last year! And now this year in 2023, Melissa reached out to me telling me the amazing news that she was pregnant! And wanted to sign up for my Journey Package which gives 3 sessions of your choice really for the price of 2 😊 so, we chatted back and forth, figured out maternity, newborn, and a 1st birthday session would work best for her and her family and so, we got to planning!

August of 2023 rolls around and it was time for the first session of their Journey Package, the maternity session! I took them to one of my favorite places ever in Hamilton, Ohio and we scored with the sunset. If I’m being real with you, 2023 really put me through some trials as a photographer with some really misaligned bad weather for most of my sessions in the first half of 2023! I swear it rained nearly everyday I had a session scheduled… or we got tornado like winds… or whatever else. So for this session to truly ring in some much needed and joyous sunshine during golden hour no less, I was completely ecstatic. And my creativity exploded.

I sincerely loved photographing these guys and documenting a chapter in what I have learned has also been a bit of a challenging year for the Areys. But despite it all, they’re embracing the good, the happy, and the joyous amongst it all and really still want to celebrate their togetherness during this time in their lives :) and with all of those things aligning so seemlessly together, these photos feel completely timeless to me. And there isn’t anything that fills up my cup more both as a photographer and overall artist than documenting chapters just like this for people.

If you want something a little extra, this song comes to mind when I look at these photos. Give it a listen and enjoy these <3
